* Hackathon set on 27th/28th January

* Data Party this week on Wednesday 18th January (online) Topic: Gathering data on Italy!
* Apps for Climate – is anyone considering a submission? Potential to either join forces, or put in two submissions. Deadline = 16th March. Could have a hackathon to prepare for that?

### Hauke – Community Coordinator, Germany
* Around 20 people at Open Data meetup in Berlin. Largely English speakers, lots of exciting ideas. Photos and blog post to follow. Wiki page (in English) on the website.
* Working on policy paper for PSI review; to be publicised this week

### Peter Hicks – Open Transport
* New Open Transport working group up and running!

### Laura James – Foundation Coordinator
* DM2E and Textus soon to be kicking off

### Primavera – Public Domain Calculators / Open Metadata
* 10 calculators implemented into code (will be uploaded on github on wed at the latest)
* organising the incorporation into bibserv with ethienne / mark
* preparing the Open Metadata Handbook for community development
* public-domain-day in Paris on the 26th – are the events in berlin/london still on ?

### OpenSpending

* OSI project started to map the technical needs of Civil Society Organisations around Spending data. More here: http://blog.openspending.org/2012/01/12/civil-society-and-spending-data-who-is-mapping-the-money/
* Working Group on Spending Data launched: http://wiki.openspending.org/Working_Group – if you would like to join or know someone we should invite, please drop an email to info [at] openspending.org.
* Work continues on the Dimensions editor – the part of OpenSpending.org which allows people to easily load in a dataset, without the requirement to write a piece of JSON. Good news for non-techies.
